Aromatherapy Foot Care

Our much used and abused feet deserve some extra care and attention.  Here are some aromatherapy solutions to try for common discomforts of the feet.

Athlete's Foot Powder

12 drops lavender essential oil
6 drops tea tree essential oil
2 drops savory essential oil
60 g (2 ounces) white clay
Combine the essential oils with the clay powder in a wide-mouthed jar.  Stir thoroughly.
Apply this powder to bare feet to soothe and heal the burning itch of athlete's foot.  Sprinkle the powder in shoes to ward off the unfriendly fungus.

Anti fungal Nail Oil

5 drops tea tree essential oil
2 drops cinnamon essential oil
2 drops savory essential oil
15 ml (1 tablespoon) neem oil
Mix the ingredients in a 30 mil (1 ounce) bottle and shake well.
Apply around and under the nail bed two to three times a day to treat fungus and promote healthy, normal nail growth.

Foot Oil

This is helpful for moisturizing the feet
6 drops myrrh essential oil
10 drops sandalwood essential oil
2 drops patchouli essential oil
30 ml (1 ounce) peanut oil
30 ml (1 ounce) olive oil
Blend all ingredients in a 60 ml (2 ounce) bottle.
Massage into the feet in the evening after a shower or bath.

Foot Lotion

This is helpful for invigorating, hot, tired feet, this blend is also refreshing and energizing for feet that still have a long way to go.
5 drops peppermint essential oil
60 ml (2 ounces) unscented lotion
Combine ingredients in a 60 ml (2 ounce) bottle.
Massage into the feet.
