- You can put your flowers in a microwave oven for one to four minutes, depending on the density of the flower.
- You can also dry flowers naturally which helps to preserve the color of the blossoms. Dry rose heads and petals on paper towels in a warm, dry place such as the kitchen, the attic or garage. Be sure to dry them in a single layer to avoid mildew.
- Flowers can also be dried by hanging them upside down in a warm dry place. Just secure the stems with a tight rubber band that will shrink as the flowers dry. You can hang them from a length of heavy string or clothesline by hooking a paper clip through the rubber band and then onto the line. You can also use them as a decorative accent by tying a ribbon around the stems as they are drying.
- Flowers can be dried and pressed flat between pieces of blotter paper weighted down by heavy books or other weighted object.
