Personal Yearly Cycle
We all experience what could be called lean times. Whether financial, death of a relative, a health problem, a major disappointment; bad stuff just seems to find us. The good and bad news is that life happens and there are times when life hurts emotionally or physically. For many people, lean times can be cyclic but the pattern can be broken. Here's how you can tune into your personal yearly cycle.
Cycle 1 (first 3 months after your birthday)
Energy: Productive, energetic, demands on your time, growth
Things to Do: Get out into the world, launch new ventures and projects, move, find new job/career, sign up new clients
Cycle 2 (second 3 months after your birthday)
Energy: Slower pace, productive but less active
Things to Do: Organize, get rid of clutter, fine tune projects/ventures, brainstorm for new ideas, conserve your energy, take a vacation
Cycle 3 (beginning 6 months after your birthday)
Energy: Reaping benefits of first cycle, more prosperous period, achievement, attainment, energetic, buoyant time
Things to Do: Projects are completed, closure to what was begun in first cycle, actively seek new projects, interests, network, establish new contacts
Cycle 4 (about 3 months before your birthday)
Energy: Energy is lower, can be stressful, sudden, unexpected events, demands on your time increase
Things to Do: Take up meditation, learn to relax, reassess, set new goals.

- Using your birthday as a starting point, you can plot your personal cycle by dividing the year into quarters.
- The first 3 months after your birthday tend to be productive and busy. You are actively involved in the outer world and there are many demands on your time and energy, but things do get done.
- The second 3 months are still productive, but tend to be less active. This is a good time to assess what you've been doing in the previous 3 months and fine-tune your efforts going forward.
- The third 3 months (beginning 6 months after your birthday) is usually a time of harvest. You are reaping the benefits of the first 3 month cycle and you most likely feel prosperous.
- The fourth 3 months (beginning about 3 months before your birthday) can be stressful. You may find that you tire more easily and are more irritable. If little things that go wrong during this period aren't fixed, they tend to become bigger problems.
