Circulating Chi Through Meridians
Here is an exercise that helps balance the polarities of the entire body. It balances and harmonizes the functions of the chakras, opens blockages and revitalizes the chakras, as well as all organs and the systems associated with them. The exercise also helps to strengthen the overall energy of the body and alleviates stress. This exercise is especially effective if you perform it outside in the morning.
(1) Take a seated position with your feet flat on the floor and your back straight.
(2) Center yourself using progressive relaxation of the entire body.
(3) Touch the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth, just behind the front teeth. This creates a full circuit of energy by linking the governing and the conception meridians.
(4) Breathe in a slow, rhythmic pattern. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
(5) Allow the energy to loop in an orbit around the body. As you inhale, feel the energy drawing upward along the spine. Let it rise over the head and down the face. Feel energy flowing in the tongue, the throat, the chest, the navel, around the groin to the tail bone and back up the spine.
(6) Keep your breath slow and comfortable while maintaining a focus on circulating the energy by trying to feel where the energy is moving at all times.
(7) You will begin to feel warm. This is a sign of increased energy circulation. Continue for five to ten minutes.
