Loosen Up When You Are Feeling Stiff
The Spinal Suspension exercise affects all the meridians and chakras by elongating and stretching the spine, loosening the shoulder blades and sending energy from one side of the body to the other. This exercise can rejuvenate you and will ward off fatigue. It can be done in as little as one to two minutes.
(1) Stand with your feet wider apart than the width of your shoulders.
(2) Place your hands on your thighs above your bent knees. Straighten your arms. Take several deep breaths. This position should feel like sitting on an invisible chair.
(3) With your head forward and your bottom back, adjust your feet so your knees are directly above your ankles and your back is straight. You are creating a kind of suspension bridge with your body.
(4) Slowly stretch one shoulder across and down toward the opposite knee. Repeat with the other shoulder. This is a crossover exercise. You will feel the stretch across your back. You can do this stretch more than once.
(5) Very slowly raise yourself with your arms hanging down, until you are in a standing position.
