Scents in the Home
Just a few drops of essential oils quickly add aroma and create an atmosphere in your home environment. Here are a few tips to try:
Add a few drops of caraway, lime and ginger to your vaporizer before guests arrive to create a calm atmosphere. During those cold winters days, add several drops of refreshing pine and relaxing sandalwood onto the logs of an open fire. After a long day, add a few drops of lavender along with orange and palmarosa to your vaporizer to stir your senses. In the bedroom, add orange, lavender and marjoram to your vaporizer (use a total of 8 drops) at least one-half hour before retiring. Or for a touch of elegance, spray neroli between the sheets of your bed. Simply add 5 drops to a spritzer bottle filed with water and spray a light mist over the sheets. You can also blend the neroli with lavender and cardamom to create a sense of indulgence as you climb into bed. In the bathroom use spikenard with rosewood and bergamot to help you relax in a warm bath. Source: Aromatherapy 101 by Karen Downes.
