Solar Plexus Chakra

If you think of the human body as an energy system, you can use various energy vibrations to interact with it.  For instance, sounds, colors, aromas, and thoughts create frequencies our bodies respond to.  Chakras are the primary mediators of all energy within the body and energy coming into it.  They assist the body in distributing energy for our various physical, emotional, mental and spiritual functions.  The chakras are connected to the functions of the physical body primarily through the endocrine glands and the spinal column.  The word chakra comes from a Sanskrit word meaning "wheel" and it helps to think of chakra as a spinning vortex of energy.  Energy imbalance within the body can manifest in physical, emotional, mental and/or spiritual problems.  The most effective means for restoring balance to the chakras is through vibrational remedies.  Here are some main points to consider for the Solar Plexus Chakra: The solar plexus chakra is associated with the solar plexus area of the body and is attributed with influencing the digestive system, the adrenals, the stomach, the liver and the gall bladder.  It assists the body in assimilation of nutrients.  The solar plexus chakra is also attributed with influencing the functions of the left hemisphere of the brain and the functions of clairsentience and general psychic energies and experiences; as well as rational thought processes.  It can open one to the influence of nature's elements within our lives as well as reveal the talents and capacities of our souls.  When the solar plexus chakra is dysfunctional, we can experience a feeling of being deprived of recognition, aloofness, exhibit dogmatic behavior, fear group power, isolate ourselves to a confining life with narrow focus.  Additionally, we tend to always be planning but never manifesting, constantly needing change and novelty, become judgmental, critical, mentally bullying of others and exhibit a sense of unerring, absolutist attitude.  The solar plexus chakra can be balanced and stimulated by the tone of E above middle C, flutes, woodwinds, strings and piano instruments, vowels with the sound of "awh", the color yellow, citrine and topaz stones, and the fragrance of rosemary.  Source: The Healer's Manual by Ted Andrews.
