Spleen Chakra

If you think of the human body as an energy system, you can use various energy vibrations to interact with it.  For instance, sounds, colors, aromas, and thoughts create frequencies our bodies respond to.  Chakras are the primary mediators of all energy within the body and energy coming into it.  They assist the body in distributing energy for our various physical, emotional, mental and spiritual functions.  The chakras are connected to the functions of the physical body primarily through the endocrine glands and the spinal column.  The word chakra comes from a Sanskrit word meaning "wheel" and it helps to think of chakra as a spinning vortex of energy.  Energy imbalance within the body can manifest in physical, emotional, mental and/or spiritual problems.  The most effective means for restoring balance to the chakras is through vibrational remedies.  Here are some main points to consider for the Spleen Chakra:  The spleen chakra is located in the abdomen at the 1st lumbar part of the spine.  It is attributed with influencing the function of the adrenal glands, the reproductive system and the muscular system.  The spleen chakra also influences the elimination system including activities of the spleen, bladder, pancreas and kidneys.  As such, it is a major center of influence for detoxification of the body. The spleen chakra also is a center of influence for sensation and emotion.  It is tied to the consciousness of creativity as well as being a center that controls most personality functions.  The spleen chakra can be stimulated to help open communication with energies and beings upon the astral plane.  Dysfunctional spleen chakra energy can result in a person becoming selfishly arrogant, lustful, proud, conceited, displaying an exhibition of vanity, having the drive to belong conflict with the desire to elbow one's way in, mistrust of others, following the crowd, worrying about what others think, inability to get along with others, placing high value on social status, expansive behavior without substance, power seeking and antisocial behaviors.  The spleen chakra can be balanced by the tone D above middle C, bass-toned, percussion, brass and woodwind instruments, long "O" vowel sound, color orange, carnelian agate, patchouli and gardenia fragrances.  Source: The Healers Manual by Ted Andrews.
