Seven Emotional Factors

Chinese medicine teaches that there are seven emotional factors (anger, fear, fright, sadness, grief, pensiveness and joy) that can weaken certain organs if they are unbalanced in the body.  Here's a brief summary:
Anger also includes resentment, irritability, frustration.  These emotions can affect the liver, resulting in headaches, dizziness, high blood pressure, stomach and spleen problems.
Fear also includes fright.  These emotions can affect the kidneys and cause problems in the ears.
Sadness also includes grief.  These emotions can affect the lungs.
Pensiveness demonstrated by over-thinking or using great mental effort affects the spleen and can lead to worry, fatigue and inability to concentrate.
Joy is demonstrated by an excess of emotion, agitation or over-excitement.  This emotion can affect the heart and result in agitation, insomnia and palpitations.  Source: Energy Secrets by Alla Svirinskaya.
