Meaning in Your Smile
A genuine smile is something that comes from the heart. A mouth turns up in a smile. If it turns down to smile, it is a mask and does not reflect a sincere or warm greeting. Here's a quick summary of common types of smiles:
Natural smile: lips are relaxed, full smile, shows teeth but no gums indicates the person is comfortable with their sensuality and sexuality.
Gums showing in a full smile: indicates a person who is a generous giver but may question his or her own lovability.
Lips stretch tight (upper lip tight across the teeth): indicates an "overly sincere" smile as a mask that hides the owner's true agenda with an attempt to communicate an unfelt sincerity or caring.
Lips together in pursed or "kissy" smile: communicates that the person wants to maintain his or her distance and needs space.
Crooked smile with one side higher than the other: indicates a practiced performance smile that is designed to make a good impression but does not reflect the person's true feelings. Source: Amazing Face Reading by Mac Fulfer, J.D.
