Lines on the Chin, Mouth Area and Ear

In a previous blog cast we discussed ways that lines on our face can be an indicator of certain traits.  The deeper and more noticeable the line, the more pronounced the quality it indicates.  Lines on the left side of the face reflect personal issues.  Lines on the right side of the face reflect external, including career issues.  Here's a guide to some lines commonly found on the face:
Disappointment Lines (run from the nose to the corner of the mouth):  most likely you experienced emotional disappointments.  The deeper the lines, the greater the experience of disappointment.  If the line is only on the left side, it represents inner or personal disappointments.  On the right side, it represents external world disappointments.
Compassion Lines (from the corner of the mouth down to the chin): indicate you have weathered traumatic emotional experiences that may have included deep emotional pain and grief.  On the left side, it indicates an intense loss or suffering.  If the line is on the right side, it may indicate severe loss in the external or business world.  Because your heart has been opened by your own experiences, you have greater compassion for people and true empathy.
Forced Smile (horizontal line on upper lip): reflects a happy external appearance that may not reflect true internal feelings.
Support Lines (dimples that look like lines): indicate you exert power by lifting up those around you and helping them feel better about themselves.  Because others expect your support and encouragement, your silence will often speak louder than words in calling attention to a problem.
Libido Lines (vertical ridges under the nose to the upper lip): the more pronounced these lines, the more you may tend to divide the world into categories of male/female with specific roles for each.  The wider apart these lines, the greater the sex drive and need for physical affection.
Survivor Lines (vertical lines on upper lips): show development of an inner personal strength born out of adversity.  You may have experienced circumstances that felt overwhelming and perhaps even devastating, causing you to dip into your deepest personal resources to pull yourself out to survive.  Today you can face whatever life brings because you know you can handle it.
Gab Lines (continuous line that runs under the chin and up the outer cheeks): you love to talk and seldom run out of something to say.  You never meet a stranger and you smile easily and often.
Desirability Line (arch on chin): you have a strong need to know that you are desirable from at least one person.  Your self-esteem could use a boost but you are easier to be around and more desirable than those with overblown egos.
Heart Lines (vertical line on the ear lobe): your focus in life is in doing and you may be too hard on yourself.  Your challenge is to take better care of yourself.  Pay attention to diet, exercise, get more rest and find ways to put more joy, love, peace and contentment into your life.  Learn to measure your success by your ability to be authentic rather than judging yourself by outcomes and accomplishments.
Secrets Lines (indents at corners of the mouth): there are some areas of your life that you do not choose to share and may never tell anyone.  You have closed the door on some aspects of your life, feeling they are too painful or dangerous to deal with.
Obstinate Chin (chin has a tense, bumpy appearance): you've hardened yourself to perpetually meet difficulties because you don't expect life to be gentle or kind.  You can be tough and even obstinate when challenged.  Source: Amazing Face Reading by Mac Fulfer, J.D.
