Chromotherapy

Chromotherapy is based upon balancing the mind, body and spirit through the use of color.  It is believed that specific wavelengths of each color have an effect on the endocrine system and the brain, working very quickly on a subconscious level.  We can have surprisingly strong emotional reactions to specific colors.  A strong attraction to a certain color can indicate an energetic imbalance that will be corrected by that color's vibration.  Following are some of the energy associations for specific colors.
Color red: used for blood or circulatory problems, depression, lack of confidence, fatigue, pain reduction.  Too much can cause agitation, anxiety, aggression
Color orange: used for digestive problems, weak immune system, depression, lack of joy, social withdrawal.  Too much can cause agitation, anxiety.
Color yellow: used for mental clarity and focus, skin problems, poor self-esteem, apathy, lack of interest in life.  Too much can cause exhaustion, depression.
Color Green: used for calming nerves, healing broken bones, balancing emotions, relaxing tense muscles.  Too much can cause increase in negative energies.
Color blue: used for calming nerves, spiritual protection, fever reduction, burns.  Too much can cause lack of compassion, depression.
Color indigo: used for head colds, eye and sinus problems, purification, intuition and psychic ability.  Too much can cause drowsiness, headache.
Color violet: used for rheumatism, epilepsy, deep tissue work, enhance creativity.  Too much can cause spaciness.
Color lavender: used for balancing, insomnia, spiritual healing.  Too much can cause fatigue, disorientation.
