Aromatherapy in the Work Place

Just as walls help define a large area by creating smaller divisions, using different scents in an area can have a beneficial influence on you.  Here are the distances that scents travel:
Dispensed by wearing or applying directly on your body: up to two feet.
Dispensed by infusing in moving water: up to three feet.
Dispensed into the air by a heat element: up to six feet.
Dispensed by hot air projection system: up to twelve feet
There are a variety of places you can infuse scents in the office environment:
Telephone - use a cotton ball to wipe these scents on the mouthpiece:
    Lavender to stay calm
Thyme to help with decision making
    Lemon for clear, concise thinking
    Cypress to dispel fear
    Laurel for inspiration
Desktop - put the following scents in a small dish or wipe them across your computer screen:
    Chamomile when patience is needed
    Peppermint to reduce overeating
Yarrow to abate defensiveness and over protectiveness
    Rosemary to boost confidence
Tea tree to reduce the impact of emotional assaults
Threshold of a room - put these scents in a scent ball hung over the doorway or diffused in an electric dispenser:
    Orange for compatibility and optimism
    Melissa for fearless serenity
    Coriander to infuse tranquil creativity
    Bergamot to disperse stagnation
