The Psyche's Weak Points
The well-established aura of a person who is physically and psychically healthy is of its nature invulnerable. It is a shining armored defense on a psychic and material level. However, chaotic emotions might damage your aura. Two harmful emotions are desire and fear. While differing from each other (attraction and repulsion), they operate in similar ways to cause you to weaken your defenses. Both tempt you to use your imagination when you should not, or to use it in the wrong way. Your aura can only protect you from what is outside the aura. If you form an image in your own imagination, that image can be a focal point for corresponding forces and can bypass your aura completely. So if you fear something, or if you desire something and wish you didn't, avoid image-making. Admit to yourself you are afraid, admit to yourself you want whatever it is, but do not picture it to yourself or picture it in action. Should fear or desire images begin forming, break them up, scatter them - turn your mind to something different - a hobby, a movie or an absorbing novel. It is a good idea to practice visualization so as to form at will whatever images you may choose, and it is also good for defense purposes to practice destroying unwanted images. There are various ways to do this, but the action should be definitive. It is a good idea to link in a positive visualization of an image when you make the unwanted image vanish. Here are some suggestions for breaking up a fear or desire-driven negative image: (1) Visualize a brilliant red cancellation cross over the image you want to be deleted. Let the image and the sign fade away. (2) Visualize a "grid of darkness" on top of an undesired image. Visualize the grid fragmenting the image, then visualize the fragments drifting apart, fading and losing clarity. Source: Practical Guide to Psychic Self-Defense by Denning & Phillips.
