After you have re-energized and dedicated your crystal, you can use the crystal for general energizing or healing.  However, if you would like to use your crystal  to focus on a particular task or form of healing, it is better to attune it precisely.  Choose your words carefully  and precisely or you may confuse the crystal's energies.  Here is how you can attune your crystal.  (1) Pick up your first crystal to attune.  (2) Think carefully about your intention, about the area you want to change, or how the crystal can cure or have a stimulating influence.  (3) Formulate the exact words in your head, such as "I intend this crystal to protect my entrance."   When you are sure of your intention, hold your crystal in your hands and sense its energy.  When you feel spiritually connected, speak your intention in a clear voice.  (4)  Say your intention two or three times to fix it firmly in the crystal.  Let yourself be open to your higher wisdom and any guidance it gives you.  (5) When you intuitively feel the intention is locked in your crystal, put it down and move away from it.  To use an attuned crystal for another purpose, you will need to cleanse it and reprogram it.  Source:  Crystal Energy by Mary Lambert.
