Variety

I recently took an on line test to see how long I could expect to live.  This was an interesting exercise because the questions gave me the opportunity to review just what I'm doing to keep the quality of my life at an optimal level.  I have a tendency to get in a rut.  I go faster and faster but instead of moving forward in a new direction, I can act as if I am tied to a tether by digging a deeper circular trench.  One might call it chasing my tail.  One of the categories in the test included meeting at least seven new people each week.  Fortunately I am in a position to do this easily as my job requires that I interface with a large number of people each day.  But in retrospect I find that I am also putting myself in a position to meet new people during my leisure time.  I belong to a health club at a local hospital, so the people coming and going offers new opportunities to meet different people.  I also make it a point to work out at different times of the day or evening.  I also enjoy ballroom dancing so I find taking group lessons and attending the social dances allow me the opportunity to interact with various people who share a common interest.  I recently started line dancing which does not require a partner and I have discovered an entirely different set of people.  My recent attendance at a holistic health event gave me another opportunity to meet  new people.  Hopefully, you are getting the gist of this posting.  It really doesn't matter what you choose to do, you have the opportunity to meet someone new each time you step your foot out the door.  The important point to remember is to be sure your foot is from time to time on a different path. It just might help you to have enough wind to blow out those 100 candles!
