Talent
I have a number of CD's from the Southwest Indian Foundation. Each time I hear one of the CD's, I increase my appreciation of the talents of the Native Americans who produced such beautiful sounds. I purchased the CD's as a measure of support for their financial welfare but I've actually benefited from the beauty of their music. Some of the tracks have "seamless" sounds of flute accompanied by sounds of nature, other tracks have the flute paired with an orchestra. But regardless of what accompanies the flute, I am struck by the beauty and emotion brought to life by the talent of the musician. The melodies and tones have the power to evoke strong emotional reactions in me ranging from bringing forth long-forgotten memories, to raising emotions I had shut down many years ago. So my effort at philanthropy has really turned out to be one of receptivity.
