Reasonable Income

We're living in a time of transition for many people.  A number of people have lost their jobs and are unable to find any position paying the income they had grown accustomed to.  Others are not able to find a job at any price using their specific skill set.  This will all sort itself out over time, but in the transition, there are many tears being shed.  Working for one company for many years was a very effective strategy a few years ago.  It often led to a sense of security in anticipation of a career ladder that led to a "gold watch" at retirement.  Not anymore.  Companies that have been in business for years are shutting their doors and dashing the sense of security for their employees.  Others are merging and making people of all things, "redundant."  Those companies that have jobs available pay the minimum wage possible because they know they can choose from a large pool of desperate people.  Corporate responsibility seems to work well in good times.
