I think I have a cold.  It started in earnest today.  I really can't remember the last time I did not feel well.  I've been fortunate to enjoy good health most of my life.  I do make an effort to take care of my body's physical needs but once in a while something like this happens.  Since it had been so long since I had a cold or flu, I needed to go to the local pharmacy to see what's available.  GOSH things have changed in the way we handle a cold.  When I was a child, getting some aspirin, a little honey on a teaspoon to soothe the sore throat or for good measure, hot milk, melted butter and a whole garlic clove bouncing around in the cup.  Now I have a choice of tablets that dissolve on the tongue, sprays I can use for the inside of my mouth, elixirs to add to a drink of my choice.  Well, I'm going to try a couple of these new fangled ways to deal with the symptoms of a cold.  But just in case they let me down, I have that garlic clove smiling at the medicine cabinet.
