Dress Code

We recently changed the dress code for acceptable attire at work.  We have been wearing company-provided logo shirts and our choice of slacks.  The new dress code is business suits.  In taking stock of my closet, I realized that I have been wearing pant suits exclusively for quite a number of years.  I decided it was time to change and so I have purchased only suits with a skirt this time around.  And of course, that means different shoes, and some blouses instead of the men's shirts that I've been known to wear.  This change has put a breath of fresh air into the working environment for me.  I found having everyone wear the same type of shirt helped to create a cohesive look and separated the employees from the customers.  It also cut down on some of the extremes in clothing tastes.  But I found over the long-haul it also tended so suck the individuality out of everyone.  Going back to suits allows us to get back to being individuals working together for a common cause.
