Handwriting

Handwriting has never been one of my stronger traits.  I'm generally in "too much of a hurry" to really give it much thought and even when I slow my pace it still isn't textbook-pretty.  I'm in a career where I see a wide variety of samples each day.  There are times when the script seems to match the physical traits of the person and at other times, there are times when the handwriting brings a chill to my spine.  Several years ago a gentleman was signing a number of documents and his handwriting was a true work of art with ornate letters and swirls, each signature took several minutes to complete.  I asked him about his unusual signature and he said at one time he was a bank official, someone forged his signature and large amounts of money were at stake.  So he changed to the elaborate version that certainly would take a very talented person to forge.  Others explain their unique style results from having a stroke or other physical illness.  Handwriting analysis is an interesting pastime and there are a number of books in the marketplace if you want to learn more.  A few you might want to consider are Instant People-Reading Through Handwriting by Anne Conway, The ABC's Of Handwriting Analysis by Claude Santoy and Instant Handwriting Analysis by Ruth Gardner (this book also has an interesting section on doodling.)
