Stick-to-itivity

I'm pretty good with beginnings, and not so bad with endings but darn the middle!  It doesn't matter if the project is as simple as cleaning out a closet or as involved as training to run a marathon.  I can start with the biggest rush of energy imaginable.  Then I get to the middle of a project and the steam just runs right out of my sails.  So I end up putting whatever I lost interest in aside and I take up something else to give me an adrenaline rush.  Some times I go back to what I half-finished a few years ago.  By this time it's "fresh" and I have the energy to finish the project.  So my life consists of a large number of very diverse projects in various stages of completion.  And the amazing thing, when I successfully complete the darn project, I've totally lost interest and really don't get the "rush" I thought I'd have.  (Think "ho-hum" after bowling a 600 series, after spending my entire adult life pursuing an MBA then Doctorate Degree....you get the gist!)  I just seem to like climbing the mountain - well, I seem to like starting up the path then somehow finding the peak.  I think the big lesson for me is to learn to enjoy the journey!
