Getting Old, Getting Fat?
Does getting fat automatically go with getting older? It seems every ten years or so, I need to adjust either my eating habits or my exercise commitment just to stay somewhat the same weight. I've had friends who lost weight with various diets and felt so proud of themselves - that is for a month or so and then the pounds just started piling on and not only did they go back to their "fat clothes" ... they went to fat ++++ clothes. As my body gets more difficult to move around, with this ache here and that pain over there, exercise is getting a bit more challenging. So I'm looking at what adjustments I need to make in my food choices. I'm currently reading an interesting book Psychology Today Here To Help Secrets of Successful Weight Loss by Diana Burrell. It has an interesting twist on understanding one's relationship to food, activity level and body weight. Maybe, just maybe getting older won't mean getting fat!
